About

Welcome to Lin’s World.

I have a dream. One day, hopefully very soon, my novels can be read by millions around the world. It’s a big dream of mine. However, since I am a stubborn, hardworking Capricorn, I don’t think it’s an impossible dream to achieve. Sometimes, it just takes one person’s believe, vision and courage to create the so-called miracle.

It happened to J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of “the Lord of the Rings”. He feared that no one would read or understand his work, and the novel turns out to be the 2nd best-selling book in the 20th century right behind the Bible.

The same thing also happened to J.K. Rowling, as a penniless single mother, she creates a magic realm full of witches and wizards, attracting readers both young and old.

Nothing is too difficult if you set your mind to it, and if someone recognizes your talent.

My favorite novel is “The Lord of the Rings”, and my favorite genre is fantasy. My first novel, The Thousand Year Promise, is a 75,000-word fantasy-adventure that takes place in an ancient, fantastic realm, where man, beasts and gods coexist.

Unlike Harry Potter, which is written for children, my story is intended for an older yet youthful audience. And while it echoes The Lord of the Rings, my work focuses on a theme of undying love that transcends time and space. It is an intensely character-driven tale about one man’s undaunted quest to fulfill a promise. In the process, he discovers the meaning of true love.

I also completed a mystery-suspense novel “Hidden Scent”, and a crime fiction called “The Price of a Lie”.

I joined “Hubpages.com” in 2012, where I share my hobbies and favorite topics such as Healthy Living, Korean Dramas, and Love Stories. Be sure to follow me on facebook and YouTube.

  1. I work with the NJ STARS students at Bergen Community College in Paramus, New Jersey. Someone shared information about your book on the NJ STARS of Bergen Community College Facebook page and mentioned you were a student at Bergen Community College. I would like to share the link to the students but wanted to verify this information. Thanks!

      Hello Catherine,
I graduated from Bergen Community College in 1999 with associate degree in Accounting and Computer Programming, but my true passion is creative writing and I have never given up that dream. I took cinema appreciation and world literature courses as free elective during my time at BCC. Currently, I’m hosting a Book Cover Design Contest. Please feel free to share the information, and I’m happy to answer any question you might have.
Thank you and have a nice day!

Thank you so much for responding so quickly! I’m also a graduate of Bergen Community College.

I will be happy to share the information about your book cover design contest on the NJ STARS Facebook page, and will forward the information to some appropriate people at the college as well.

Good luck to you and hope to stay in touch!

Thank you Cathy. I’m in the process of getting my novel published in China, my birth country, and I’m also working on a paranormal-mystery novel that is scheduled to be released later this year. I’ll update my blog for future contests. It’s been a pleasure knowing you. Keep in touch!

Will do! May I ask favor? If you haven’t already, can you “Like” the NJ STARS page on Facebook for me at http://www.facebook.com/bccnjstars?

The more people that like the page, the more people that can potentially learn about the program. Although high schools are supposed to share the information with the students who qualify, and their parents, per NJ legislature, they often do not and students who can’t afford to go to college either take out students loans and go elsewhere, or do not go to college at all.

It has become my mission to get the word out to as many people as possible.

      Thanks so much!

No problem. Just a thought, have you related your cause to the news media? Maybe they can do an interview and spread the words for you to a broad audience and attract the public’s attention.

Thanks for liking the page. Yes, last year, I found someone really interested in writing about the NJ STARS and did an article. He wanted to do several follow up articles, but the PR Department told me I shouldn’t be speaking to the press. They asked me to let them handle the interviews, and unfortunately, it ended there.

I wish I could do interviews without having to use my name so I don’t get in trouble at work. It’s crazy…something that would help students is what we should be all about. I don’t know if it’s political, or if it was because I got the interview and it’s a control thing.

Oh well, I’ll keep trying in other directions.

        Thanks for the suggestion though!
